Background / History
Di Tian received the Dragon God Claw directly from the Dragon God and witnessed the power of the Divine Realm’s gods. His reluctance to expand beyond the Star Dou Great Forest stems partly from the Silver Dragon King’s orders, but chiefly from fear of divine intervention. Despite the title Beast God, he is not a true god 53 95.
He supports the injured Silver Dragon King by supplying Douluo Star’s pure energy and managing the soul beasts whose faith helps sustain her recovery. His Beast Tides have her tacit approval: they are intended to intimidate Soul Masters and restrain the hunting of soul beasts 104.
An earlier Beast Tide followed the Body Sect’s hunting of several hundred-thousand-year beasts. That campaign mobilized only a portion of the northern forest’s clans, rather than the entire forest. Di Tian and the other Beast Kings had also slept through the era of the three gods ten thousand years earlier, leaving the Sky Azure Bull Python and Titan Giant Ape to guard the forest 40 75 84.
Appearance
- Dragon form: An enormous black dragon with golden eyes, vast wings, and black scales. His arrival is accompanied by dark clouds, lightning, and roars that terrify lesser soul beasts 74 80 95.
- Size: His dragon body is described as a thousand meters long in a comparison of high-level combat strength 16.
- Human form: He can assume human shape and wield a pitch-black longsword 93.
- Battle armor: Black armor covers his humanoid body; after escaping Mu En’s space-time trap, it is torn and his exposed flesh bears numerous cutting wounds 91 100.
- Scars: Xiong Jun is reputed to have inflicted one of the few scars on his body 86.
- Undead form: Night Emperor retains brilliant golden eyes and an intimidating aura even when restraining it in Huo Yuhao’s presence 213.
Personality
Di Tian is proud, authoritarian, and confident that he can personally handle humanity’s strongest fighters. He regards unrestricted soul-beast hunting as exploitation and answers perceived threats with collective retaliation. During the full-scale Beast Tide, he orders devastation across the human territories rather than limiting punishment to the supposed instigators 74 75.
His pride does not prevent tactical calculation. He verifies claims about Shrek’s preparations before committing to war, deliberately damages the city through the shock waves of his own battle, and conceals his weakened condition while recovering. Once he recognizes that the Holy Spirit Cult has also been manipulated, he revises his judgment of its responsibility 74 80 92 94.
He acknowledges that Mu En defeated him, yet refuses to end the war before confronting Huo Yuhao. His loyalty to his army is demonstrated by sacrificing his own blood to restore it; his final refusal to retreat also rests on confidence that the Silver Dragon King will rescue him 91 101.
Abilities & Skills
Dragon Physique and Bloodline
- His strength allows him to seize and tear out the horns of Xuan Zi’s Godly Taotie Bull Avatar 80.
- While fighting Du Busi, Yu Luoba, and Tang Qingfeng, his scales withstand their attacks without being knocked loose 92.
- His blood mist heals wounded soul beasts and increases their fighting strength. Dragon-blooded beasts receive a full-tier combat boost 91.
- The Dragon Raja are described as naturally immune to spiritual power. Di Tian also possesses an exceptionally powerful soul despite never deliberately cultivating it 133.
Yin-Yang Complementary Dual Soul Cores
- Two complementary soul cores support his immense soul-power reserves and endurance 80 92.
- Ordinary expenditure in his battle with Mu En is less dangerous than the cost of escaping the river of space and time, which exhausts his soul power 92.
- He restores both his injuries and depleted reserves by refining gold of life stored in his spiritual sea 94.
Dragon God Claw
- A technique taught to him by the Dragon God, also called Divine Dragon Claw in the supplied passages 53 92.
- He uses it to tear through space and escape the rift created by Mu En’s self-detonation 91.
- Its claw attacks force three level-98 Super Douluos to intervene together when he attacks Lin Huiqun 92.
Darkness, Annihilation, and Spatial Control
- Ultimate Darkness: His soul-ring energy carries powerful darkness and spatial attributes 132.
- Spatial Guidance: Collapses space into black holes, forcing his three Super Douluo opponents onto the defensive 92.
- Annihilating power: Tears the wings from Yu Luoba’s Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Avatar 92.
- Annihilation Ray: Uses energy accumulated over tens of thousands of years to break through Titled Douluos’ Martial Soul Avatars and threaten the allied army. Di Tian orders his own beasts to retreat before releasing it 94.
Dragon Flames and Dragon God’s Radiant Sun
- Myriad Dragon Flame: A devastating flame attack used during the assault on Shrek 80.
- Spiritual Dragon Flame: His remnant soul unleashes dragon flame inside Huo Yuhao’s spiritual sea during its final ambush 133.
- Dragon God’s Radiant Sun: Draws directly on solar energy. Its central structure contains two spinning cores resembling his complementary soul cores 102.
- His final use of Radiant Sun consumes all his remaining soul power, committing him to a decisive confrontation 101.
Command and Battlefield Strategy
- His prestige and the backing of the Black Dragon Clan allow him to unite otherwise independent soul-beast clans 75.
- He assigns healing, elite combat, and regional command roles rather than relying on an uncontrolled charge 75.
- He deliberately fights above southern Shrek City so the shock waves wreck its defenses, turning a fortified siege into a battle through breached approaches 80.
- He feigns weakness while recovering and attempting to draw out the mastermind behind the conflict 92 94.
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Reverse Scale Sword / Black Dragon Sword — A bonded weapon nourished in his soul sea. Its core consists of ten shed reverse scales, while higher-quality discarded scales form the rest of the blade. Its concentrated strikes damage SS-Rank Combat Suits and kill a distracted Titled Douluo 100.
- Black Dragon Armor — Crafted from the lower-quality scales shed during his transformation after the 800,000-year tribulation 100.
- Gold of Life — Taken from the Lake of Life as a precaution before the Beast Tide; later consumed to restore him after his escape through space and time 75 94.
- Soul Bone — Coveted by the surviving Super Douluos after his death. Huo Yuhao instead allows it to fuse with Di Tian’s corpse during the creation of Night Emperor 106 213.
Relationships
- Silver Dragon King / Gu Yuena — Sovereign whom he serves and sustains. She initially considers his survival essential, but ultimately prioritizes the Soul Beast Clan when forced to choose between him and the remaining beasts 100 104.
- Dragon God — Direct teacher of his Dragon God Claw 53.
- Huo Yuhao — Manipulator, enemy, and killer; later master of his undead body. Huo engineers the Beast Tide, takes his soul ring, and destroys his remnant soul 74 102 133 213.
- Electrolux — Prevents Gu Yuena from rescuing him, then converts his corpse into Night Emperor 103 138.
- Scarlet King and Zi Ji — Trusted subordinates whose deaths provoke his anger. Huo sends their undead bodies to taunt him and escalate the conflict 40 74.
- Bi Ji — Subordinate assigned to lead battlefield healing. She immediately tends to him after his return from the space-time rift 75 91.
- Xiong Jun — Powerful subordinate whom only Di Tian can subdue within the forest; reputedly responsible for one of Di Tian’s scars 86.
- Myriad Demon King — Subordinate commander who secretly hopes to inherit Di Tian’s position as Beast God after his death 75 87.
- Mu En — Opponent whose self-detonation banishes him into the river of space and time. Di Tian openly accepts that Mu En defeated him 91.
- Evil Emperor / Evil Eye Tyrant — Rival and ally bound by an old bargain. He refuses Zhongli Wu’s request to hunt Di Tian and intervenes on the soul beasts’ side 94 102.
- Zhongli Wu — Would-be hunter who covets Di Tian’s beast spirit as a means of advancing toward Limit Douluo 76 95.
- Du Busi — Repeated opponent whom Di Tian says he spared during an earlier Beast Tide. Du Busi later seizes and suppresses the Reverse Scale Sword 91 101.
Story Role / Major Arcs
Provocation and Mobilization
Di Tian initially stays out of Zi Ji and the Scarlet King’s fight with Xuan Zi, expecting neither side to gain a decisive victory. When the injured Beast Kings return and try to avoid reporting their humiliation, he appears before them and invites them for tea 40.
Huo Yuhao later sends their undead bodies to provoke him with claims that the Holy Spirit Cult intends to kill him and turn the forest into a breeding farm. Di Tian captures the undead agents, but they escape through a hexagram formation. After confirming the concentration of human experts at Shrek, he summons the Black Dragon Clan and prepares a full-scale Beast Tide 74.
He declares a potential force of ten million beasts, mobilizing every combat-capable soul beast in the forest. He assigns Bi Ji to healing, Xiong Jun and the Myriad Demon King to elite combat, and reserves humanity’s strongest fighters for himself 75.
Assault on Shrek and Mu En’s Trap
Di Tian overwhelms Xuan Zi despite Elder Zhuang’s support and uses the battle to destroy Shrek’s southern defenses. Mu En then confronts him with enhanced dragon power and Ultimate Light 80 84 85.
Mu En’s self-detonation traps Di Tian in the river of space and time. Di Tian escapes with Dragon God Claw but returns badly injured and drained. He revives his retreating army with blood mist, then fights Du Busi, Yu Luoba, and Tang Qingfeng while secretly refining gold of life 91 92.
The Evil Emperor’s intervention exposes Zhongli Wu’s failed hunt. Fully recovered, Di Tian recognizes that the Holy Spirit Cult has been used as a pawn and launches Annihilation Ray against Shrek’s allied forces 94.
Final Duel with Huo Yuhao
Star Luo’s armored reinforcements interrupt Di Tian’s attempted annihilation of the defenders. Huo Yuhao blocks his attack on the cavalry, while enhanced Douluos and other human experts surround him. Di Tian draws the Reverse Scale Sword and begins cutting through the opposition 95 100 101.
Huo’s Paralysis Blades immobilize Di Tian’s hands, allowing Du Busi to seize the sword. Further paralysis forces Di Tian back into dragon form. Rather than retreat, he invokes Dragon God’s Radiant Sun, expecting the Silver Dragon King to prevent his death 101.
Huo counters with Space-Time Blade, then escapes into the Bright Half-Plane and leaves his Black God Suit as a decoy. Di Tian believes he has won, but the blade’s power has already entered his body. Huo returns, and Di Tian is destroyed from within; his death triggers ominous celestial phenomena 102.
Remnant Soul and Night Emperor
Di Tian makes one last attempt to kill Huo during soul-ring absorption, waiting until the final stage to ambush his spiritual sea. Huo destroys the remnant soul with Death-Demise Divine Light and absorbs its released spiritual energy 133.
His ring becomes Huo’s sixth Spirit Eyes ring and grants four divine skills: Dragon God Claw, Dragon God’s Radiant Sun, Dragon God’s Flame, and Dragon God Sword. These are strengthened adaptations of Di Tian’s signature techniques, not exact copies of his original abilities 133.
Electrolux subsequently transforms the corpse into Night Emperor. By his documented appearance under that name, the undead being exceeds Limit Douluo strength and works alongside the Bone Dragon King under Huo Yuhao’s command 138 213.
Notable Quotes
“Human desire is like a boulder rolling down a mountain—there is simply no stopping it.” 75
“As for those so-called human powerhouses, whether they are Limit Douluos or top-tier Level 98 Douluos, leave them all to me.” 75
Trivia
- His stated lifespan of roughly 100,000 years is distinct from his 830,000 years of cultivation. Soul beasts can increase their cultivation age through cultivation 75 100 106.
- Before his death, he reflects on a contract with the Evil Emperor and plans to investigate the Evil Eye Clan’s Forbidden Ground and a hidden key. Huo overhears enough to question him, but the supplied account leaves these secrets unresolved 102.
- Nan Qiuqiu later exaggerates Huo’s victory into a story of killing Di Tian with a breath. Huo himself rejects that description, saying even a god could not do so 136.
