I owe everyone an apology. Over the past couple of days, I took a pretty hard blow and wasn't in the mood to write, so I stopped updating for two days.
How should I put this? I've missed a few too many days of updates on this book, so all the writing benefits from here on out are gone.
Basically, I finally slogged my way to 200,000 Chinese characters, only to find that there would be no guaranteed minimum payment each month after that. In other words, no money.
If I kept writing, I'd be doing it purely for the love of it.
Who wouldn't fall apart over that? I certainly did, anyway, so I missed another two days.
But seeing you guys ask for updates and cast votes every day, I'd feel pretty guilty about abandoning the book.
Heaven and man battled inside me for a long time, but I finally decided to keep writing. And not just to write, but to write it well and put the things I want to write onto the page.
So, starting tomorrow, I'll aim for two updates a day again and try to finish this book.
I still owe you a long chapter from before, the kind that runs to 4,000 Chinese characters. I'll definitely make it up when I have time. To avoid disrupting the plot's continuity, I'll have to write a side story of some sort, though I haven't decided who it'll be about yet.
Then there's the previous chapter. I was inexperienced and thought I could delete it after it passed review, but it turned out I couldn't.
I ended up posting two duplicate chapters. Those of you who paid to read them, don't worry. I'll contact the editor and ask for help fixing it. If it can't be
