When Qian Daoliu arrived and saw that Qian Renhan had died a horrific death, his fury knew no bounds.
With his Angel Wings fully spread, Qian Daoliu unleashed the power of a Limit Douluo and plunged into a fierce battle with Bibi Dong.
Qian Daoliu had thought he could easily subdue Bibi Dong, but he discovered something strange about her soul power. She actually possessed an exceedingly evil soul power.
What surprised him even more was that Bibi Dong managed to use that power to escape his Angel Domain, after which her fate remained unknown!
That day, a great battle erupted in Winterhold, flattening the land for dozens of miles outside the city. No one knew who had fought there or what sort of battle they had waged.
But everyone knew that those involved had to be at least Titled Douluo-level powerhouses.
From that day onward, Spirit Hall's Pope and Saint Son both mysteriously disappeared. Qian Daoliu had no choice but to appoint Golden Crocodile Douluo as Spirit Hall's Pope.
When Qian Renxue learned the news, she immediately rushed back from the Heaven Dou Empire to the Elder Hall in Spirit City. Upon hearing Qian Daoliu tell her himself that Bibi Dong had killed Qian Renhan and that he had killed Bibi Dong, she stared at her grandfather in disbelief, bloody tears spilling from the corners of her eyes.
She could not believe that she had lost both her brother and her mother overnight, and that it had all happened through her own family slaughtering one another.
She broke down on the spot.
The conviction in Qian Renxue's heart suddenly blazed. A searing Angel Mark blossomed on her forehead, and soon her soul power began soaring level by level, from level forty to level fifty, then sixty, before stopping at level seventy.
An intense Angel's Light also began radiating from her body. At the sight, even Qian Daoliu's grief over his grandson's death faded considerably, for everything happening to Qian Renxue proved that she had awakened the purest angel bloodline-the god-level bloodline belonging solely to the Angel God.
That day, the Angel Clan lost a young Soul Saint, but gained another young Soul Saint with the potential to become a god.
Ten years later!
Over ten years, the stars turned and the heavens shifted.
Residents gradually began settling where that fierce battle had once taken place, and villages and towns slowly developed.
The area grew prosperous, and the great battle that had taken place there became a legend.
A thatched cottage had also appeared on the spot where Huo Yuhao had died, home to a family of three.
The father was a degenerate gambler, and the daughter was only six years old. The mother helped support the family by washing other people's clothes. Yet even her meager earnings were taken by the gambler and squandered at the tables.
Still, she wore a smile every day. No matter how hard life became, she never let her daughter see her sorrow.
But today, the commotion at the door filled her with despair. Her gambler husband had once again run up an enormous gambling debt. Unable to repay it, he had actually pledged her and their daughter as collateral to save his own hands.
She did not care what happened to her. He had already ruined her; her wretched life was worth nothing. But her daughter was only six! If she were sold to that sort of place, her future would hold no hope whatsoever.
A woman might be weak, but as a mother, she was strong!
Even faced with seven or eight burly men at the door, she did not retreat in the slightest. She shielded her daughter like a woman possessed, her eyes burning with venom as she glared at the worthless man who had sold them out.
"O god, I am willing to offer you my soul. If that is not enough, take my daughter's freedom too. Even if she must serve you forever, I will pay that price. I only beg you to open your eyes and save my poor daughter!"
As the mother desperately protected her daughter, she pleaded bitterly with the gods above. At a time like this, it seemed that only the gods they worshipped could help them.
But although the gods could hear the prayers of the poor, they would never answer.
Their only value lay in enduring suffering. Nothing more. Without suffering, who would worship the gods?
And so, their story was destined to end in tragedy today.
"Hahahahaha! Praying to a god? You'd be better off begging me. If you put me in a good mood, maybe I'll make life a little more comfortable for you two."
"Exactly! A god? If gods were any use, you'd have been living the good life long ago! Hahahahaha..."
The hulking man in charge wore a vicious look and a lecherous grin. He grabbed the mother by her hair and moved to throw her onto the bed in the bedroom.
But in the very next moment, a blood-colored cocoon suddenly appeared on the previously empty bed.
The cocoon was two meters across and radiated an intense bloody glow. A thick bloody aura instantly filled the house, making everyone nauseous.
The instant the woman was thrown onto the bed and touched the blood cocoon, a pair of blood-soaked hands thrust out with a crack. Soon, the entire cocoon shattered at a speed visible to the naked eye.
An extraordinarily striking figure, nearly two meters tall, floated in the air. His eyes were closed, and six blood-red wings grew from his back. Countless strands of bloody energy wound around his body, concealing his private parts.
"What the hell is that?"
After vomiting, the hulking man was thoroughly displeased to see someone suddenly appear above the bed. Seeing his useless underlings trembling so badly that their legs shook, he realized this could not continue-it undermined his authority. He grabbed his weapon and advanced toward the figure.
But just as his club was about to strike the blood-colored figure's head, the figure suddenly opened his eyes, revealing a dazzling golden gaze that shone like a river of stars.
In an instant, brilliant golden light burst forth, mingling with the bloody glow. Soon, however, blood-red color engulfed his golden pupils.
The floating figure vanished instantly. In the next moment, the hulking attacker suddenly went rigid. He stared in disbelief at the figure before him and the hand that had pierced his chest, terror overtaking him.
His terror lasted only an instant, for he soon stopped breathing. The blood-colored figure withdrew his hand from the man's body, and the hulking man immediately collapsed to the floor, his fate unknown.
Everyone was scared out of their minds and scrambled desperately for the door. But blood-red threads soon ensnared them all. In the next instant, their blood was uncontrollably drawn into the threads, and they were quickly drained dry.
Huo Yuhao found the sight exceedingly bizarre, yet deeply satisfying. He seemed to enjoy the feeling of slaughter.
He had slept for ten years, yet it felt as though only an instant had passed.
And the first thing he did upon waking was kill.
His martial soul seemed to have mutated into a Six-Winged Blood Angel, an utterly evil martial soul.
His soul power had actually skyrocketed to level 90 as well. With just two more soul rings, he could break through to Titled Douluo, complete his mission, and leave this world.
For now, however, he needed to deal with everything before him. After all, he was not someone who delighted in killing.
"Don't worry. I'm no devil, after all. I'm a good person..."
Mother and daughter: ...
