Background / History

Angel inheritance and family conflict

Qian Daoliu belongs to the Angel Clan, whose generations have borne responsibility for continuing the Angel God’s divine inheritance. After Qian Xunji failed to receive the Angel God’s recognition despite possessing innate level 20 soul power, Qian Daoliu placed his hopes in his grandchildren 3 4.

During Bibi Dong’s childbirth, he guarded the sanctuary and attacked Qian Xunji when his son tried to approach. Bibi Dong had threatened to die with the unborn children if Qian Xunji came nearer. Qian Daoliu condemned his son’s conduct but acknowledged that he had helped imprison Bibi Dong to preserve Spirit Hall’s righteous image 3.

He promised to mobilize the Elder Hall behind Bibi Dong’s claim to the papal seat if she safely bore children with god-level aptitude and raised them successfully. He subsequently raised the twins, Qian Renhan and Qian Renxue, himself 3.

Raising the twins

At six years old, both grandchildren awakened the Six-Winged Angel with innate level 20 soul power. Qian Renhan also awakened the Glazed Divine Fire Eyes, transforming Qian Daoliu’s initial disappointment into excitement at a possible divinely chosen successor 4.

Qian Daoliu appointed the siblings Spirit Hall’s Saint Son and Saintess. He taught Qian Renhan the Angel Meditation Technique and personally escorted both children into the Star Dou Great Forest to obtain suitable soul rings 5 6.

When Qian Xunji later hunted the pregnant Blue Silver Emperor, Ah Yin, Qian Daoliu refused to participate: he would not attack a pregnant woman for a soul bone. He nevertheless left his son free to conduct the hunt 7.

Bibi Dong’s succession and the family tragedy

After Qian Xunji’s death, Qian Daoliu and the entire Elder Hall stayed away from Bibi Dong’s inauguration. Huo Yuhao interpreted the snub as anger over her conspicuous rise so soon after Qian Xunji’s death and the drained condition of his corpse. Qian Daoliu’s guilt toward Bibi Dong and concern for her gifted children had restrained him from killing her 11.

When Bibi Dong attacked Qian Renhan over Yu Xiaogang’s death, Qian Daoliu answered his grandson’s emergency summons but arrived after his body had dissolved. Enraged, he fought Bibi Dong, devastating the surrounding land. Her unusually evil soul power allowed her to escape his Angel Domain, leaving her immediate fate unknown 21 22.

Qian Daoliu appointed Golden Crocodile Douluo as Pope after Bibi Dong and the Saint Son disappeared. He told Qian Renxue that Bibi Dong had killed her brother and that he had killed Bibi Dong, although the preceding account describes her escape. Qian Renxue’s ensuing grief awakened the Angel God’s purest bloodline and raised her soul power from level 40 to 70, briefly restoring his hope 22.

Reunion and altered fate

Ten years later, Huo Yuhao returned to the Elder Hall. Qian Daoliu recognized their shared blood and welcomed him despite finding his transformed aura deeply uncomfortable. After hearing his explanation, he disclosed that Qian Renxue had volunteered for the Heaven Dou infiltration mission and remained estranged from him after the reported deaths of her mother and brother 30.

Determined to prevent Qian Daoliu’s expected death, Huo Yuhao performed Angel Sacrifice for Qian Renxue. He transferred his power, life force, soul bones, and sacred angel origin to prepare her for the Angel God Trial, taking the sacrificial role that would otherwise fall to his grandfather 30 31.
