Background / History
Original-world counterpart
In Huo Yuhao’s original era, Tang Hao and Ah Yin have left the Divine Realm to live on Douluo Star. The narration identifies Tang Hao as having swallowed a plane’s will, while Ah Yin spreads her roots across the planet as its Mother of Life 1.
Tang San’s wider scheme is to seize Douluo Star’s power of destiny through its child of destiny and help his father gain control of the planet as Plane Master. The Three Harms System’s concealment of Huo Yuhao disrupts Tang San’s attempt to identify and manipulate that child 35.
Pursuit and Ah Yin’s sacrifice
In the first mission timeline, Qian Xunji hunts Tang Hao and the pregnant Ah Yin to test whether killing her unborn child would produce a hundred-thousand-year soul bone. Ah Yin uses nearby blue silver grass as an information network, allowing the couple to repeatedly evade pursuit 8.
Ah Yin gives birth to Tang San in a remote village. When the grass warns that their pursuers are approaching, Tang Hao urges her to flee, arguing that remaining would not save the villagers. Qian Xunji subsequently orders an attack on the village, which Huo Yuhao’s forces intercept 8.
The couple holds out for fifteen minutes against Qian Xunji, Yue Guan, and Gui Mei before Ah Yin sacrifices herself. Her Absolute Stillness Domain prevents Tang Hao from answering her farewell as she asks him to raise their son. The sacrifice gives him the soul ring needed to become a Titled Douluo 9.
Tang Hao then severely wounds Qian Xunji despite Yue Guan and Gui Mei’s combined stillness domain. He kills several lower-ranked Soul Masters and escapes with Tang San and Ah Yin’s right-leg soul bone, leaving the surviving enemies too frightened to pursue immediately 9.
Loss of Ah Yin’s soul bone
Huo Yuhao intercepts the injured Tang Hao with four Soul Douluo guards. Although Tang Hao initially holds his ground, his wounds and the need to protect Tang San steadily undermine him. Huo Yuhao offers safe passage in exchange for Ah Yin’s hundred-thousand-year soul bone 10.
Tang Hao eventually abandons the bone and escapes with his son, vowing to kill Huo Yuhao and recover it. He does not know that Ah Yin’s surviving seed is lodged inside the bone. Huo Yuhao preserves the seed before absorbing the bone himself 10.
Seven days after the hunt, Qian Xunji dies from his injuries. Bibi Dong takes charge of Spirit Hall, continues hunting Tang Hao, and leads an assault that devastates the Clear Sky Sect and drives its survivors into hiding 11.
Final battle and death
Thirteen years after the robbery, Huo Yuhao attacks Tang San at Suotuo Advanced Soul Master Academy to draw Tang Hao out. Tang Hao arrives in a black robe and severs the bloodthirsty threads binding his son, revealing his previously hidden Titled Douluo identity to Tang San 26 27.
Recognizing that Huo Yuhao has surpassed him, Tang Hao nevertheless chooses to fight: delaying would only widen the gap and eliminate his chance to reclaim Ah Yin’s soul bone. He combines eighty-one hammer strikes with repeated Ring Detonation, but cannot break through Huo Yuhao’s Blood Angel Wings 27.
By the time Angel Duel Arena finishes charging, Tang Hao has shattered six soul rings and exhausted more than half his soul power. The arena seals his ninth ring while leaving Huo Yuhao at rank 95. Tang Hao loses the first exchange, is bound and drained by Bloodthirsty Threads, and dies when Huo Yuhao crushes his heart 28.
His death awards Huo Yuhao the red-grade Beauty Compendium. Tang San witnesses his father’s corpse being thrown out of the arena, attempts to flee with Xiao Wu, and is killed shortly afterward 28.
Appearance
Tang Hao is described as middle-aged when keeping watch outside the village where Ah Yin gives birth 8.
- Black robe: Worn when he intervenes to rescue Tang San at Suotuo Advanced Soul Master Academy 27.
- Blood-red killing aura: Surrounds him during his retaliatory slaughter after Ah Yin’s sacrifice 9.
Personality
Tang Hao’s attachment to Ah Yin drives both his rage after her sacrifice and his determination to recover her soul bone. The narration explicitly states that he loves his wife more than his child, even though he abandons the bone to ensure Tang San’s survival 9 10.
He can make a pragmatic retreat when his son’s life is at stake, but refuses to retreat from the later confrontation with Huo Yuhao. Knowing that his opponent is stronger and improving faster, he wagers everything on what he considers his last chance to settle their feud 10 27.
To Tang San, he appears to be a withdrawn blacksmith who spends his days drinking. His sudden intervention as a nine-ring Titled Douluo exposes how little his son knows about his strength and past 27.
Abilities & Skills
Clear Sky Hammer
- His tool martial soul is described as the world’s greatest tool martial soul 9.
- He uses its hammer phantom to sever Huo Yuhao’s threads and rescue Tang San 27.
- Its destructive power is amplified through the Clear Sky Sect’s self-created techniques and Clear Sky True Art, allowing him to challenge opponents above his level 23.
Divine Slaughter’s Domain
- Releases a blood-colored domain accompanied by intense killing intent 9 27.
- Its collision with Huo Yuhao’s Blood Angel Domain nearly destroys Suotuo Advanced Soul Master Academy 27.
Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer
- Accumulates the force of successive hammer strikes; Tang Hao stacks eighty-one strikes within a few breaths during his final battle 27.
- Can be layered with Clear Sky True Art or Ring Detonation to intensify an attack 9 27.
Ring Detonation
- A Clear Sky Sect ultimate technique that detonates soul rings to temporarily amplify combat power 27.
- His first detonation breaks Huo Yuhao’s threads and makes his next hammer strike at least thirty percent stronger 27.
- He subsequently detonates his second through sixth rings, raising the hammer’s weight to tens of thousands of jin 27.
- Even this expenditure fails to breach Huo Yuhao’s wing defenses and leaves Tang Hao heavily depleted before the arena activates 27 28.
Soul Rings and Soul Bones
- Possesses nine soul rings before entering Angel Duel Arena; the ninth is Ah Yin’s red hundred-thousand-year ring 27 28.
- Has other soul bones, but none are hundred-thousand-year bones by the final confrontation 10 26.
- Lingering internal injuries contribute to his vulnerability when Huo Yuhao drains his blood in the arena 28.
Relationships
- Ah Yin — Wife and the Blue Silver Emperor. Her sacrifice becomes his ninth soul ring; recovering her stolen soul bone remains a central motivation until his death 9 10 27.
- Tang San — Son. Tang Hao protects him during their escape and later reveals his hidden strength to rescue him from Huo Yuhao 10 27.
- Huo Yuhao / Qian Renhan — Mortal enemy after the theft of Ah Yin’s soul bone. Huo Yuhao ultimately kills him as a system target because he is Tang San’s father, rather than from personal hatred 10 28.
- Qian Xunji — Pursuer whose hunt causes Ah Yin’s sacrifice. Tang Hao inflicts the injuries from which he later dies 8 9 11.
- Xiao Wu — A human-form hundred-thousand-year soul beast whom Tang Hao initially considers reserving as a soul ring for Tang San. The narration confirms this early intention while distinguishing it from Huo Yuhao’s fabricated claims about Tang San 29.
