Snatch Him Away

Chen Mo thought for a moment, then shook his head. "You're all grown up. You probably don't need anyone to comfort you."

"Of course not. I don't need anyone to comfort me." Nangong Mu'er hugged her knees, buried her face, and gritted her teeth.

"Good if you don't. You're such a grown person, yet you're still crying like this. How embarrassing," Chen Mo teased.

"You really did come to laugh at me." Nangong Mu'er raised her head and glared fiercely at Chen Mo.

But with that glare, the tears already brimming in her eyes immediately fell, landing on the wine flask in her hand with a faint patter.

"Oh my, what huge tears."

"You—"

"I swear, I'm absolutely not laughing at you," Chen Mo said, holding back his laughter.

"And you say you're not? You can barely hold it in." Nangong Mu'er flung the empty wine flask in her hand at Chen Mo's face.

But Chen Mo caught it in one hand. "Really, I'm not."

"I'm not listening, I'm not listening."

Nangong Mu'er covered her ears and shook her head.

Yet she did not realize that she was no longer quite so sad.

Chen Mo pulled her hands away from her ears and said, "So what if your biological father and mother joined forces to deceive you? What's the big deal?"

"You make it sound so easy. You've never been deceived by your parents." Nangong Mu'er's emotions were hard to suppress, and she wanted to make a hysterical scene again, but the last remnants of reason made her hold back. She glared coldly and fiercely at Chen Mo.

"Of course I haven't." Chen Mo spoke calmly and set the flask he had caught aside.

"I'll bite you to death." Nangong Mu'er bared her teeth and lunged at Chen Mo.

She
