"Are you insane?! This isn't a natural tsunami! It's a destruction-class ocean current triggered by Atlantean battleships! Not even a god could stop it! Are you staying here to die?!"

Mera stared at Yang Ming, who stood rooted like a nail at the edge of the docks, her voice distorted by sheer terror.

The hundred-meter wall of black water bore down on them with unstoppable force. It blotted out the sky, filling the air with suffocating moisture and the briny stench of death.

Without looking back, Yang Ming slowly removed his Gold-Rimmed Glasses, folded them, and tucked them securely into the inner pocket of his outdoor jacket.

"If a god can't stop it, what's that got to do with a doctor like me?"

Yang Ming sounded calm, as though he were facing an ordinary surgical procedure rather than certain annihilation.

"You're insane! All you land dwellers are insane!" Gritting her teeth, Mera plunged into a muddy pit that still held a puddle, trying to use her water manipulation to escape through the underground waterways.

In the distance, Arthur Curry sprinted down the muddy street like a desperate beast.

"Dad! Run! Get out of that tower!"

Arthur had screamed his voice raw, and his roar carried the thick tang of blood.

But it was too late.

The tsunami moved too fast. Before that hundred-meter wall of water, the weathered lighthouse was no more than a fragile matchstick. Thomas Curry had not even had time to poke his head out of the second-floor machinery room before the enormous shadow swallowed all of Amnesty Bay.

Thousands of fishermen collapsed to the ground throughout the town.

Some crossed themselves. Others shut their eyes in despair. Beneath the deafening roar of the waves, their cries and prayers were less significant than a single bubble.
