"Mr. Yang... help..."
Peter Parker's voice came from the hood of the wrecked Jeep. His red-and-blue suit was soaked in foul-smelling, dark green slime and blood, making him look like a torn sack freshly dredged out of a sewer.
Sitting in the driver's seat, Yang Ming adjusted his Gold-Rimmed Glasses and stared at the completely caved-in front end, his mouth twitching uncontrollably.
"This secondhand military Jeep of mine just cost me two thousand dollars for new spark plugs last week. Did you really have to smash a car for your entrance, kid? There's empty space all along the road! Are you blind?"
"The bill... I'll figure something out..."
Peter rolled over with difficulty and tore away the webs binding his body, revealing two mangled, bloody figures behind him.
"Please, save them first! They're dying!"
Before Yang Ming could get out, Dave, who had been slumped on the ground nearby, suddenly sprang up as though pumped full of adrenaline.
"Spider-Man?! Oh my God! It's really Spider-Man!"
Dave scrambled over to the Jeep, his eyes shining. He frantically patted himself down with both hands before desperately grabbing the hem of his oversized school uniform.
"I'm your biggest fan! I just watched your livestream in Harlem yesterday! Can I have your autograph? Right across my chest!"
Half of Peter's goggles had shattered, exposing a bloodshot eye beneath his mask. Looking at the scrawny boy before him, his face covered in muddy water and his excitement making him bounce like a monkey, Peter irritably shoved him aside.
"Sorry, buddy, I'm not in the mood for a fan meetup!" Peter's voice trembled with barely suppressed sobs and panic. "My friends are dying! Move!"
Dave stumbled backward and froze. Only then did he get a clear look at the two horribly mangled men on the hood.
