Bruce Wayne stood before the enormous floor-to-ceiling windows of the sea-view suite in Monaco, his voice cold and hard, leaving no room for discussion.
Yang Ming was lounging in a beach chair, sipping the 1982 Lafite Jessica had just swiped. He didn't even lift his eyelids:
"What? Had enough of the free luxury vacation courtesy of the world's richest man? Or is Jessica eating lobster too loudly for your noble ears?"
"What's wrong with me eating lobster? Tony Stark should feel honored I'm eating his food!" Jessica, who was gnawing furiously on a king crab beside him, immediately bristled and shot back through a mouthful.
Bruce ignored Jessica's protest. He turned around and fixed his deep gaze on Yang Ming.
"Tony Stark's portable armor, and that miniaturized energy matrix." Bruce paused, an almost feverish thirst for knowledge flickering in his eyes.
"I've stayed here long enough. Those technologies have given me tremendous inspiration. I need to return to Gotham immediately. There's too much work to be done at Wayne Enterprises' Applied Sciences Division."
"Workaholic." Yang Ming curled his lip, set down his glass, and sat up.
He adjusted the Gold-Rimmed Glasses on his nose and quickly ran through the timeline in his head.
"Judging by the timing, that alien in the red cape and his fellow countryman's demolition work in Metropolis should be over by now. Head back now, and you won't have to worry about being cooked medium-well by a Kryptonian's Heat Vision the moment you open the door."
Bruce frowned slightly. Although he'd spent several days in the Marvel Universe, his concern for Gotham and Metropolis had never stopped.
Especially that alien with godlike power. If he truly lost control, the consequences for Earth would be devastating.
"Open the door," Bruce said tersely.
