Barry set a steaming cup of coffee on Yang Ming's desk with a slightly sheepish smile. "And... thank you."
"For what?" Yang Ming didn't even look up, his gaze still on the newly delivered autopsy report before him. "For making you crash into the wall seventeen times during training, or for making you use up the precinct's entire coin supply?"
Barry scratched his head awkwardly. "I mean, thank you for teaching me those... um, those techniques."
Over the past few days, Barry felt as though he had been reformatted. What Yang Ming taught him was completely different from what he had learned at S.T.A.R. Labs.
Cisco and Doctor Wells taught him how to run faster and push past the limits of physics.
Yang Ming taught him how to sever a nerve with a coin in a thousandth of a second, or put a two-hundred-pound man into shock with a single knife-hand strike.
The former was science.
The latter, to Barry, was more like art-an art of violence defined by absolute composure.
"Those are paid lessons." Yang Ming put down the report, lifted the coffee, and sniffed it, his brow creasing slightly. "No sugar next time. It affects cerebral cortex activity."
