Hiss-bang!
The high-pressure jet of water swallowed the fifth-floor laboratory like a crazed white python.
Mist exploded outward. Visibility dropped to less than half a meter.
Skull Crusher never paused. His two-ton body crushed the floor tiles as his enormous, bone-spiked fist tore through the curtain of water, hurtling straight toward Peter's face. The pressure plastered Peter's mask against the bridge of his nose and forced even his breath back down his throat.
A silver-blue blur cut across his path.
Lightning.
Black fluid multiplied wildly between Lightning's arms, hardening into a massive silver-blue shield half as tall as his body.
Boom!
Fist met shield. The piercing grind of bone drowned out the roar of spraying water. Lightning's feet plowed two deep furrows through the floor before his back slammed into a laboratory bench. The metal cabinet doors caved in on impact.
"Venom! Protect the host!" Lightning's voice exploded directly inside Venom's consciousness, carrying an unquestionable command.
"Shut up, you rigid silver flashlight! I don't need you telling me what to do!"
Venom roared furiously inside Gwen Stacy's mind. Black matter surged from her shoulders and back like boiling asphalt, instantly forming a dozen tendrils as thick as an adult's arm.
The mist to their left parted. Blade Hunter's scythe arm silently sliced toward Peter's waist.
Clang!
Three black tendrils crossed, locking the bone scythe firmly in place. Sparks flashed along their edges and vanished. Venom let out a shrill screech, and the tips of the tendrils abruptly forked, snapping back at Blade Hunter's joints like venomous snakes.
Everything descended into chaos.
The pipe kept spraying. Laboratory benches were smashed to pieces.
"Too slow."
Outside the window, Absolute Slaughter hung upside down and coldly spat out the words.
Crack. She ripped out the blast-resistant glass, aluminum frame and all. Fierce wind
