"Yang, is it that bad?" Steve noticed the change in Yang Ming's expression.
"Worse than expected. He has a commander's tactical expertise, and he hasn't underestimated us just because we're Earthlings." Yang Ming adjusted his Gold-Rimmed Glasses, sweeping his gaze over everyone in the Clinic.
Just then, a piercing warning suddenly blared over Tony's armor comm channel.
A holographic projection automatically unfolded in the center of the Clinic.
JARVIS's anxious electronic voice echoed through the room. "Sir. The Arc Reactor atop Stark Tower has just been forcibly disconnected from the external power grid."
Tony sprang to his feet. "What? Who did that? I didn't authorize it!"
"A physical severance, sir. An enormous amount of unknown energy is gathering at the top of the tower. Some kind of device is channeling the reactor's energy directly into a blue cube."
The holographic projection zoomed in.
Stark Tower, the world's tallest building, stood in the heart of New York.
On the rooftop helipad, an intricate ring-shaped launch apparatus had been fully assembled. The Tesseract sat at its core.
Ebony Maw stood in the fierce winds at the edge of the tower, looking down over the bustling city. The Mind Scepter in his hand slowly pointed toward the sky.
Yang Ming grabbed the silver medical case from the table, his knuckles cracking.
"He picked his spot well. The world's tallest building, with an independent clean energy source." Yang Ming drew a deep breath and looked at Tony.
"Congratulations, Stark. Your tower is about to become the gateway for an alien invasion of Earth."
"So there's no time to argue now."
Yang Ming snapped the silver medical case's clasps shut with a crisp click.
