The blue Anywhere Door had barely opened.

A gray-white bone blade slashed out from behind it.

Yang Ming raised his arm to block it.

The blade skimmed past his Gold-Rimmed Glasses, cracking a corner of the frame on the spot.

"Luthor does biological experiments, and he doesn't even sort his trash?"

He kicked the bone blade away and pulled Elias behind him.

"The waste in your laboratory grows legs on its own?"

Elias clutched a black lead box, his back pressed hard against the wall.

"It's not waste."

Another monster crawled out of a cultivation tank.

It was only half a person's height, its body pieced together from gray-white bone armor and black-red fascia, its limbs slender and its joints turned outward. There was no head on its chest, only a gaping, circular mouthpart.

"It's active tissue from Doomsday," Elias said. "They're looking for an energy source."

Both monsters turned their heads at once.

Their gazes landed on the lead box.

Yang Ming glanced at the end of the corridor.

The blast door had already dropped, and the electromagnetic lock flashed repeatedly. Behind him, cultivation fluid churned, and half a broken infusion tube lay scattered at his feet.

"Great."

He pushed up his cracked glasses.

"One scientist holding hazardous materials, two unregistered masses of pathological tissue, and a cultivation tank beside us that won't close."

Yang Ming took the Scalpel out of his Storage Ring.

Black Haki spread along its blade.

"Who wrote this place's emergency triage standards?"

The bone-spiked monster lunged.

Yang Ming sidestepped the first one, sliding the tip of his blade into its neck.

He didn't cut deep.

He drove it in just three centimeters.

With a twist of the blade, he severed the nerve bundle hidden beneath the bone armor.

The monster's forelimbs froze in midair.
