The next morning, the nanny brought Qiao Hua breakfast as usual.
She entered the basement, carried the tray to the bedside, and said softly to Qiao Hua, "Madam, time for breakfast."
Qiao Hua lay with her back to her, eyes closed, and did not respond.
The nanny assumed Qiao Hua was still asleep. After all, drowsiness was normal during pregnancy. Being locked up here had also left Qiao Hua upset, and she often refused to eat when the nanny called her.
