The doctor gave them a date.
The middle of the month after next.
In other words, Qiao Hua would give birth in just under two months.
At the doctor's words, Gu Wenze turned to look at Qiao Hua and caught the distracted expression she had yet to hide. He had no idea what she was thinking.
Gu Wenze narrowed his eyes and said in a low voice, "Understood."
The doctor was clearly shrewd enough to guess most of what was going on from Gu Wenze's arrangements that day. He said hesitantly, "President Gu, although Miss Qiao's test results show no problems, the equipment here isn't as comprehensive as what we have at the hospital. If possible, it would still be safer to have her examined there."
Gu Wenze clearly hadn't taken his advice to heart. "You can leave."
The doctor said nothing more and instructed his staff to carry away all the examination equipment they had brought in less than an hour earlier.
Watching from the side, Qiao Hua felt exhausted on their behalf.
Before long, the villa fell quiet again, leaving only Qiao Hua and Gu Wenze.
Gu Wenze stared into Qiao Hua's eyes. "Did you hear everything the doctor just said?"
"Yes," Qiao Hua snapped.
It wasn't as if she were deaf.
The doctor had said she would give birth in two months.
Although she had already prepared herself mentally, the thought that the little life inside her belly was about to enter the world stirred a strange feeling in her heart.
Recalling Qiao Hua's distracted expression, Gu Wenze's gaze sharpened. His words carried a warning. "Give birth to this child safely. If anything happens to the baby, you'll stay here and get pregnant with another one."
Hearing the threat in his words, Qiao Hua glared at him.
