Qiao Hua was jolted awake by a basin of cold water.
Her eyes flew open, water dripping from her soaked hair. Through her blurred vision, everything was dim, and her surroundings looked like the inside of a shipping container.
The memories from before she lost consciousness came flooding back. She remembered Gu Jinyang being snatched away at the mall. She had chased the kidnappers into an alley, only to be knocked unconscious.

Her breath caught as she eyed him warily. "Who are you? Where's my son? Where did you take him?"
The man tipped his chin toward a corner. Qiao Hua followed his gaze and saw Gu Jinyang lying on the floor.
