Gu Wenze had no idea what Qiao Hua was thinking. He stretched out an arm and pulled her back into his embrace. "What are you thinking about? Go to sleep."
Qiao Hua happened to be sleepy too, so she barely resisted. For once, she obediently rested against his arm.
Seeing Gu Wenze staring at her without blinking, Qiao Hua snorted. "What are you looking at me for? You should go to sleep too."
Judging by his complexion and the dark circles beneath his eyes, he probably hadn't slept well all night.
Gu Wenze said imperiously, "You close your eyes first."
"Are you a child? Still playing games over who closes their eyes first?" Despite her words, the corners of Qiao Hua's lips lifted slightly. She nuzzled his chest before finally settling down to sleep.
Once Qiao Hua closed her eyes, Gu Wenze finally lowered his head in satisfaction, kissed her forehead, and closed his eyes too.
When the nurse pushed the door open, she saw Gu Wenze lying on his side with his back to the door, Qiao Hua nestled quietly in his arms. She was sound asleep, her delicate, pretty features exuding an alluring charm.
The nurse felt as though she'd suddenly been force-fed a display of affection. Envious and a little jealous, she backed out, deciding to return later to examine Gu Wenze.
The two slept until evening, only waking when Lin Chao arrived with dinner.
Weng Fenghua had ordered all the dishes and had them delivered. They were all favorites of the couple, and soon the small square table was covered with food.
Having slept all day without eating, Qiao Hua was ravenous. She picked up her chopsticks and was about to dig in when she noticed Gu Wenze sitting bolt upright, showing no intention of touching
