Qiao Hua froze for a moment, her face flushing bright red.
Assistant Du had actually given her something like this?
Once Gu Wenze saw what it was, the corners of his lips lifted into a knowing smile.
Qiao Hua immediately shut the lid, a blush creeping up to her ears. "Um, we should head home..."
Gu Wenze raised an eyebrow. "I haven't had a proper look at the gift yet."
When Gu Wenze reached over, Qiao Hua immediately hid the box behind her back. Meeting his questioning gaze, she looked away and stammered, "There's nothing to see. It's just some ordinary clothing."
Gu Wenze raised an eyebrow. "Really? It didn't look like clothing to me."
"Then your eyesight must be going." Worried he would keep asking, Qiao Hua hurriedly stood up and cut him off. "All right, let's go home. Our son must be getting anxious."
With that, Qiao Hua walked away clutching the box, looking as though she were fleeing for her life.
Behind her back, Gu Wenze's lips curved in amusement, a teasing glint in his eyes.
On the way home, Qiao Hua received a call from Assistant Du. The day she returned to the company, Gu Wenze had given her back her old belongings so she could stay in touch with people.
On the other end, Assistant Du asked conspiratorially, "Well, Qiao Hua? Do you like my gift?"
Qiao Hua instinctively glanced toward Gu Wenze. Seeing that he was focused on driving and wasn't paying attention to her, she lowered her voice and said through gritted teeth, "What on earth did you give me?"
She had assumed Assistant Du had given her some ordinary little gift and had even opened it in front of Gu Wenze.
