Gu Wenze had indeed heard what she had said to Shen Zhen.
Qiao Hua avoided his teasing gaze and asked awkwardly, "What second baby?"
Gu Wenze's wandering hand slipped around her, a faint smile curling his lips. "Didn't you say you'd arrange a marriage with Shen Zhen's child once you had a second baby?"
Qiao Hua's ears burned, but she stubbornly said, "That was hypothetical. It doesn't mean I actually want one."
Gu Wenze raised an eyebrow. "Doesn't that mean you've thought about it?"
This time, Gu Wenze had guessed wrong.
Qiao Hua had never actually considered having a second child. Shen Zhen had suddenly brought up arranging a marriage between their children, and she had blurted it out without thinking.
It wasn't that she didn't want to have another baby with Gu Wenze. She simply had no idea when she might disappear, so how could she dare take that risk?

Qiao Hua looked up at him irritably. "Go try with someone else. I'm not having another baby with you."
Gu Wenze narrowed his eyes in displeasure and tightened his arm around her. "I'm already yours. Who else do you want me to have a baby with?"
He said it without the slightest embarrassment, utterly unconcerned that they were in public.
Qiao Hua didn't know whether to laugh or cry. "Could you stop making me sound like some thug who abducts innocent women?"
