Gu Luosheng blinked. "If you hadn't come, I might have slept better."
Ye Nanshen affectionately kissed her cheek. "If I hadn't come, I would've worried you couldn't sleep."
Gu Luosheng: ...
When it came to verbal sparring, she had never beaten Ye Nanshen.
The man didn't talk much, but every word hit its mark.
"I'm hungry." Gu Luosheng rubbed her stomach.
"We exercised for too long last night. It's only natural you're hungry now. Get up and eat." Ye Nanshen's voice was low, with a slight lilt at the end.
He didn't seem affected in the slightest.
Once again, Gu Luosheng felt helpless.
Why were men and women built so differently?
It wasn't fair at all!
Gu Luosheng huffed.
In the end, though, she obediently got out of bed.
The two walked out one after the other.
"Morning, Sister Sheng." Zheng Xincheng was catching chickens and had gotten himself covered in dirt, with a chicken feather stuck on his head. Still, when he saw Gu Luosheng, he greeted her quite earnestly.
"Morning." Gu Luosheng froze at the sight of all the chaos.
"Sister Sheng, come catch chickens with me. It's so much fun." Zheng Xincheng chuckled. As a city boy, he had never taken part in such an entertaining activity before, so he was as happy as a child. But when he saw Ye Nanshen following behind her, his smile suddenly froze.
"Wait... is this some kind of magic trick? Why... is there an extra person?" Zheng Xincheng's eyes widened as he stared in surprise at Ye Nanshen behind her.
Ye Nanshen lifted his gaze. "I came last night."
Zheng Xincheng's mouth twitched. "I always heard the Ye Group was pretty busy, but you seem awfully free."
Ye Nanshen glanced at Zheng Xincheng. This guy... talked a little too much.
