Background / History

Tang San enrolled at Shrek Academy alongside Zhang Tianyu. Yu Xiaogang recognized his potential and accepted him as a disciple, while Tang San was assigned to the Seventh Dormitory as a work-study student. His first challenge there ended when he sprained his ankle during a fight with Wang Sheng, leaving him unable to use Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track. Although humiliated by the loss, he accepted Wang Sheng's explanation that the dormitory boss needed to be strong enough to defend the work-study students' dignity. 3 4

After Tang Hao disappeared, Tang San was deeply affected by his father's absence. Zhang Tianyu and Xiao Wu comforted him, and Tang San later traveled with them to Wanghun Village. 14

Tang San repeatedly experiences severe and seemingly inexplicable misfortune after entering the academy. He comes to believe his suffering may be connected to fate, his teacher Yu Xiaogang, or enemies bearing grudges against Tang Hao. Zhang Tianyu exploits these fears while presenting himself as Tang San's closest and most dependable friend. 72 78 104 196

He was arrested by Spirit Hall on suspicions concerning his identity and subjected to Soul-Death Locks that suppressed his Soul Power and pierced his shoulders. Tang Hao broke him out, revealed himself as a Titled Douluo, and resumed protecting his son. Tang San initially refused to leave because he wanted to uncover the truth, but eventually departed with his father. 77 79 80 81

Using proceeds from a hidden-weapons deal with the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, Tang San began pursuing the establishment of the Tang Sect. He sought land in Heaven Dou City, hired builders, and attempted to purchase a soul bone through the Black Market; the land transaction ultimately proved fraudulent. 101 104 105 106 108

Personality

Tang San is proud, resilient, and highly conscious of personal dignity. Even as a poor work-study student, he believes poverty does not justify submission or humiliation. He is capable of accepting a fair defeat, but reacts strongly to ridicule and setbacks. 4

He is disciplined and industrious, devoting long periods to cultivation, forging, and constructing hidden weapons. His confidence in his past-life knowledge and techniques leads him to see himself as destined for greatness. 38 72 91

Despite his caution, Tang San places extraordinary trust in Zhang Tianyu, regarding him as the person closest to him besides Tang Hao. This trust persists even while Zhang Tianyu secretly engineers many of Tang San's misfortunes. 78 91
