Hu Xiaotian nodded. "If we join forces, we might well have a chance of killing him. Once we finish off Old Monster Beize, the Mottled Sect will collapse without a fight. With only the Falling Cherry Palace left, I doubt they'll be able to stir up much of a storm!"
Yan Tianlu said, "But that means we'll have to postpone rescuing Boguang."
Hu Xiaotian said, "We must rescue him, but we absolutely cannot take reckless risks."
"Nujiao has already heard that they intend to publicly behead Boguang. She insists on joining our plan."
Hu Xiaotian could not help frowning at this. He and Yan Tianlu had agreed beforehand to keep Yan Nujiao from learning about the matter, but the secret had leaked out after all.
Yan Tianlu gave a bitter smile. "Xue Lingjun deliberately told her."
Hu Xiaotian inwardly cursed Xue Lingjun for meddling, while also coming to a sobering realization. After all, Xue Lingjun was the Eldest Princess of Great Yong. With her intelligence, she could not possibly submit entirely to his command. Her decision to cooperate with him had only been forced upon her by circumstances.
Yan Tianlu asked quietly, "Could there be complications on Xue Lingjun's side?"
Hu Xiaotian shook his head. "In her current predicament, she should have no choice other than cooperating with us."
Yan Tianlu said, "Won't she be hard to control if we let her go back?" His original preference had been to keep Xue Lingjun in their custody.
Hu Xiaotian said, "Li Chenzhou will make his move before long. On our side, Xue Lingjun is the only person who can hold him in check head-on."
