Qiqi drew a symbol on a sheet of paper and handed it to Hong Beimo. "Lately, I keep dreaming about this symbol. Take a look-what exactly is it?"
Hong Beimo looked closely. When he made out the symbol, he could not contain his excitement. He nodded emphatically. "I knew it. You would slowly begin to remember."
Qiqi quietly watched his expression. The normally composed Hong Beimo had shown rare excitement over a mere symbol; it did not seem to be an act. Her gaze fell on the model of the Prince Consort's Residence. "Have you installed traps inside the Prince Consort's Residence?" she asked softly.
Hong Beimo shook his head. "Rest assured, Your Highness. They are merely necessary safeguards. They will never harm you."
Qiqi caught his underlying meaning. "Then they're meant to harm Hu Xiaotian?"
Hong Beimo smiled. "Your Highness still doubts my sincerity. All I have pursued throughout my life is the supreme Dao. I have not the slightest interest in the realm or the altars of state."
"I have already begun gradually dismissing the trusted men Hu Xiaotian placed in the Divine Strategy Office," Qiqi said, "so they won't catch wind of our plans."
