Ghost Physician Fu Wan said, "That should be the only way to contact those mysterious Visitors from Beyond. As far as I know, one of the people who came here back then should still be alive. To meet him, we must use the information in the tattoo. Only he can change everything." His eyes dimmed. "I spent so many years hiding my identity just to find this man. I thought that, while I was still alive, I might be able to do something for this world and the world we once knew. But now it seems I'm too late." A bitter smile touched his lips. To most people in this world, he was practically a prophet. Yet though he could see through everything, he still could not take hold of his own fate.
Hu Xiaotian said, "Even if you meet this Fated One, how do you know he'll help you?"
"Because he owes me a favor!" Ghost Physician Fu Wan said quietly. "A very great favor!" He did not tell Hu Xiaotian what the man owed him, but his conviction suggested that he had every confidence.
Hu Xiaotian realized there was still a vast difference between himself and Ghost Physician Fu Wan. Perhaps their different experiences were responsible: he would rather trust himself than surrender his fate to someone else. Although he had spent less time in this world than Fu Wan, he had seen far too much scheming and deceit to place much faith in others. Along the road he had traveled, life's trials had made him increasingly proactive. Of course, this also had to do with his rapid growth. It was not only his martial arts that improved by the day, but also his ever-expanding power. By now, Hu Xiaotian could firmly establish himself on this land.
