Hu Xiaotian continued looking her up and down, clicking his tongue in admiration. "A woman adorns herself for the man who delights in her. Your outfit today is neither fish nor fowl, but I can tell you put some thought into it. If I remember correctly, this is what you wore the first time we met. Even the hair ribbon is exactly the same." He reached out and gently tugged her blue ribbon.
Qiqi glared at him. His memory was far too good. How dull, how unromantic! He could at least have pretended not to remember. Couldn't he let her vanity have a little satisfaction? Couldn't he let her have her way for once? She snorted and said irritably, "Clever people rarely live long! Heaven envies the gifted!"
Hu Xiaotian smiled. "Heaven likes beauties even less. Heaven envies a lovely face! What's gotten into us today? We've barely met, and we're already cursing each other. Are we trying to become a pair of short-lived ghosts?"
"With you being so shameless, how could you bear to die?" Qiqi said.
Far from being offended by her insult, Hu Xiaotian was delighted and burst out laughing.
Qiqi couldn't help laughing too. A touch of tender charm actually appeared on her pretty face, and she asked with concern, "Are you tired?"
