Shopping with Qiqi was no easy task. Every shop, every stall, everything from jewelry and jade to needles and thread interested her. Hairpins, earrings, rouge, face powder, dough figurines, candied hawthorns-she wanted to buy practically everything she came across. Before long, Hu Xiaotian was clutching a whole armful of purchases. He watched Qiqi with a jaundiced eye as she sauntered along, swaying smugly and nibbling her candied hawthorns.
