"It wasn't me," Sumeru Heaven said. "Hu Xiaotian, I never imagined you would use public duty for private gain. On the surface, you're escorting the princess to Great Yong to marry, but behind everyone's backs, you've been carrying on an illicit affair with her. If word gets out, you may well lose your life."
"What nonsense are you spouting?" Hu Xiaotian said. "I'm open and aboveboard, with a clear conscience. In my entire life, I've never done that sort of thing with any woman but you."
Sumeru Heaven's pretty face grew warm. Though Hu Xiaotian's words were rather crude, hearing them made her feel remarkably pleased. She said softly, "Tell me honestly. What mischief are you plotting?"
"Do you think everyone is like you?" Hu Xiaotian said. "Right now, all I care about is how to get out of Peak Forest Gorge without trouble. I haven't given anything else a thought."
"Why not ask me for help?" Sumeru Heaven said. "I still owe you two favors, after all."
"In such a hurry to repay your debts?" Hu Xiaotian asked with a smile. "Your eagerness is making me suspicious of your motives. Don't tell me you were behind everything that happened today?"
"You've taken a kind heart for a donkey's liver. If you won't appreciate my help, I can't be bothered to serve you."
"Pressing a warm face against a cold backside doesn't feel very good, does it?" Hu Xiaotian said. "If you have nothing else to say, I have work to do."
Seeing that he really was leaving, Sumeru Heaven could only call him back. "I'll come to you tonight."
Hu Xiaotian did not know whether to laugh or cry. Sumeru Heaven really was insatiable. Apparently, she had found pleasure in this sort of thing and could hardly get enough
