Hu Xiaotian walked out of the Fragrant Pavilion. Although he had not turned around, he already knew Qiu Mubai had followed him out. Behind him, Qiu Mubai shouted, "Stop right there!"
Hu Xiaotian stopped outside the entrance and turned around. "Still not satisfied, Young Master Qiu?"
Qiu Mubai glared at him. "The day after tomorrow, between one and three in the afternoon. I'll be waiting for you at Happy Woods!"
Hu Xiaotian smiled. "Can I choose not to go?"
"You can dodge the first day of the month, but you can't dodge the fifteenth," Qiu Mubai said. "If you don't come tomorrow, I won't give you a fair chance next time."
Hu Xiaotian frowned. What did Qiu Mubai mean by that? If he refused to go, would Qiu Mubai try to assassinate him? Until now, the Sword Palace had held a rather sacred place in Hu Xiaotian's mind, but Qiu Mubai's conduct today had greatly tarnished that image. Yet there had never been any deep-seated hatred between them. Was this merely over those few words upstairs? When it came down to it, Qiu Mubai had provoked him first. To think the man could be so narrow-minded.
By then, Zhou Mo and Xiong Tianba had appeared across the road. Even with the street between them, Qiu Mubai felt a powerful, oppressive force bearing down on him from the other side. He nodded. "Don't forget!"
Hu Xiaotian went over to Zhou Mo and Xiong Tianba. Zhou Mo's gaze followed Qiu Mubai's retreating figure as he asked quietly, "Who was that?"
"I'll tell you when we get back!"
Back in their courtyard at Qichen Palace, Zhou Mo heard Hu Xiaotian's account and could not help seething with anger. "That Qiu Mubai has gone too far! He's simply dragging the Sword Palace's name through
