Yan Boguang landed face-first on the grass across the river, sprawling like a dog eating dirt. Though he looked bedraggled, the fall had not hurt him much. He scrambled up, grimacing, and the tremendous power Hu Xiaotian had displayed filled him with even greater awe. He dared not voice the slightest complaint.
Once Yan Nujiao's feet touched the ground, she first checked whether her brother was injured. Of course, she knew Hu Xiaotian had done this to help them.
"Sister, let's find a chance to escape," Yan Boguang whispered.
Yan Nujiao's delicate brows knitted slightly. "No. We escaped together, so we should watch out for one another."
She turned and approached Hu Xiaotian. Seeing him lay Xue Lingjun across his knees, take a porcelain bottle from his waist, and draw out a pill to slip between her lips, she asked curiously, "What is that?"
"A Blood-Cleansing Pill!" Hu Xiaotian answered without raising his head.
"She's been poisoned with River Red," Yan Nujiao said. "You need the right remedy to counter it."
Since she had named the poison at a glance, Hu Xiaotian figured she must know how to treat it. He raised his eyes and stared at Yan Nujiao. "Help me save her!"
"You'd better not touch her hands," Yan Nujiao said. Her gaze fell on Xue Lingjun's hands, which had turned completely red, the discoloration almost reaching her elbows. Her warning came too late: Hu Xiaotian was already holding one of Xue Lingjun's hands. Yet he showed no sign of contamination by the red poison. Yan Nujiao marveled inwardly. Apparently, his body possessed some resistance to poison. She swiftly put on her Deerskin Gloves and motioned for Hu Xiaotian to hold one of Xue Lingjun's arms steady, then took an Iron Box from the Deerskin Pouch at her waist.
