Hu Xiaotian silently cursed the two men for their shamelessness. He crept around to the back of the small building and used the Golden Spider Eight Steps to climb up to the illuminated second floor. Slipping soundlessly onto the surrounding gallery, he began searching the rooms one by one. At the third lit room, he peered through the window and saw Visa sitting blankly on the bed, her eyes fixed on the candlelight. Who knew what she was thinking? He reached out and gently pushed the door, which opened at his touch.
Visa raised her head, assuming the Prince of Yan had arrived. Before she could make out what was happening, however, Hu Xiaotian swept over like a gust of wind and clamped a hand over her mouth. He gestured for silence and whispered, "It's me, Hu Xiaotian!"
Confusion filled Visa's eyes. Hu Xiaotian whispered, "Have you forgotten me?" Remembering that she had spoken nothing but English back in Azure Cloud, he switched to English.
The fear in Visa's icy blue eyes gradually faded. Hu Xiaotian said, "I'm taking you away. Don't make a sound, or you'll alert the warriors outside." He took his hand away from her cherry-red lips.
Visa continued to gaze quietly at him, as though she still failed to recognize him.
Hu Xiaotian pointed at his face. "I'm wearing a mask!"
Visa nodded.
Hu Xiaotian bent down in front of her, letting her climb onto his back. Visa obediently did so, wrapping her arms around his neck. He had intended to leave the way he had come, but before he reached the door, he heard footsteps. He hastily opened the window and jumped out. He had only just reached the overhanging eaves when Visa suddenly screamed, "Help!"
