"Teleportation" was an offshoot of the Limitless technique.
It worked by compressing the distance between the starting point and destination, producing an effect similar to teleportation.
In essence, it was an enhanced form of "high-speed movement."
It was not true teleportation through space.
As a result, hitting an obstacle would bring it to a stop.
Mastering this ability required repeated practice.
Qi Wu stood by the window, the night breeze brushing through his silver-white hair. He took a deep breath, sensing the spiritual power flowing within him.
The power granted by the Satoru Gojo card had put him in a strange, wondrous state, as though the entire world lay within his perception.
"Let's start with a short distance."
Qi Wu muttered to himself, fixing his gaze on a streetlamp about a hundred meters away downstairs.
He closed his eyes and felt how the Limitless technique worked-it did not truly cross space, but compressed the distance between two points infinitely, creating an effect similar to teleportation.
"Here we go!"
Qi Wu's figure abruptly vanished. The next second-
Bang!
He slammed into a trash can five meters short of the streetlamp, nearly tumbling headfirst into the garbage.
[Panel notification: Teleportation failed. Recommended starting distance for practice: 50 meters.]
"Shut up. I know what I'm doing."
Qi Wu curled his lip, but obediently shortened the distance anyway.
For his second attempt, he chose a bench in Small Park fifty meters away.
This time, he appeared much closer to his intended position, but failed to control his landing and planted one foot in the fountain beside it.
"Damn it."
Qi Wu shook his soaked shoe, but could not help laughing. "Still, that's progress."
Over the next two hours, Qi Wu kept adjusting his distance and landing point.
From fifty meters to eighty, then to a hundred and twenty, his control grew increasingly precise.
By the time moonlight bathed the city, Qi Wu could execute flawless Teleportation within two hundred meters.
He stood on the roof of a commercial building, looking down at the city at night, excitement sparkling in his azure eyes.
"Time to try something farther away!"
He licked his lips and looked toward a TV tower roughly five hundred meters away.
This time, he was more cautious, first calculating the exact route in his mind to ensure there were no obstacles.
Then he took a deep breath-
"Here we go!!!"
The world warped before his eyes as the distance compressed infinitely.
Qi Wu felt a slight wave of dizziness. When his vision cleared, he was standing on the TV tower's observation deck.
"It worked!"
Qi Wu could not help pumping his fist.
From this height, the whole city spread out before him, its lights twinkling like stars.
[Panel notification: Satoru Gojo card fusion increased to 38%.]
"Oh?"
Qi Wu raised an eyebrow. "Looks like proficiency with his abilities affects fusion too."
He basked in the joy of his success.
Suddenly, Qi Wu frowned.
His powerful perception had detected a Demon's presence in an alley below.
Its aura was quite erratic. It was probably injured.
Not far from the Demon's aura, he sensed fluctuations of spiritual power from Psychics.
"An injured Demon?"
"And people from the 749 Bureau are hunting it?"
Qi Wu stood on the TV tower's observation deck, his azure eyes narrowing slightly.
"What a coincidence."
His tongue lightly brushed the corner of his mouth.
The disturbance in the alley below had caught his interest.
His perception, enhanced by cursed energy, let him see the situation in the alley clearly.
A Demon resembling an enormous lizard was curled up behind a dumpster, dark purple blood steadily seeping from a gruesome wound in its abdomen.
At the entrance to the alley, three Psychics wearing 749 Bureau uniforms were cautiously approaching.
At the sight, an amused smile curled Qi Wu's lips.
"Perfect chance to test my new ability in combat."
He adjusted his sunglasses and locked onto the Demon's exact coordinates. From
the TV tower to the ground, the distance was about three hundred meters, with several buildings in the way.
This was a challenge for Qi Wu, who had only recently mastered Teleportation.
"Still..."
Qi Wu rolled his neck. "It doesn't matter if I hit something."
He took a deep breath, spiritual power surging through his body. The next second, his figure vanished from the observation deck.
The three 749 Bureau agents were carefully approaching the injured Demon.
"Be careful," the female agent leading them said quietly. "A Shadow Lizard's combat power increases when it's near death."
"Shadow Lizard" was the name given to this kind of Demon.
They possessed an ability called "Last-Ditch Survival."
The closer they came to death, the stronger they became.
So even though they had already severely wounded the Shadow Lizard,
the 749 Bureau agents still dared not let their guard down in the slightest.
They cautiously approached the Shadow Lizard.
Just as they came within ten meters of the Demon, a thunderous blast sounded overhead.
Boom!!!
A silver-white figure plummeted from the sky like a cannonball, striking the Demon's position with perfect accuracy.
The tremendous impact smashed the entire Shadow Lizard to pieces, sending flesh and blood flying.
As the dust cleared, a white-haired youth in sunglasses stood amid the Demon's remains, without so much as a drop of blood on the hem of his clothes.
"Huh? What did I just smash through?"
"I thought it was a speed bump."
Qi Wu tilted his head slightly.

"This..." The female agent's eyes widened, and the Moon Wheel Curved Blade in her hand nearly fell to the ground.
Qi Wu brushed some nonexistent dust off his shoulder and turned toward the three dumbstruck agents:
"Good evening, everyone."
His voice was as casual as if he had merely passed by on a stroll.
"Y-you... who are you?" a young agent stammered.
Qi Wu did not answer. He merely raised his index finger to his lips:
"You'll find out soon enough."
With that, his figure blurred again.
Like a streak of silver lightning, he vanished down the alley in an instant.
"Wait!" The female agent hurried after him for a few steps, but could not even catch a glimpse of his shadow.
That speed put him on par with at least an Eighth Rank speed-type Psychic!
The young agent examined the Demon's remains, his voice trembling:
"Captain... the Shadow Lizard was shattered by pure kinetic energy. Just how terrifying must his speed and physical toughness be...!"
"Report this to the organization immediately," the female captain said gravely.
"An unidentified high-level Psychic has appeared in the city. His ability is suspected to be Teleportation or Super-High-Speed Movement."
Meanwhile, Qi Wu had already returned to the roof of his apartment building, a satisfied smile on his lips.
"Not bad."
Qi Wu stretched.
"So Teleportation can be used like that too."
He recalled that collision-
Accelerating his own mass to the limit and combining it with Teleportation's precise targeting made him practically a walking human cannonball.
That style of fighting was utterly exhilarating!
Tonight, he had given his Teleportation ability a thorough workout.
He lay on the rooftop, gazing at the star-filled sky and reflecting on the battle.
Although he had succeeded, his control over his landing point was still less than perfect.
If the Demon had been another half meter to the side, he might have hit a wall.
"Well, well. Still need more practice."
Qi Wu murmured with his arms folded beneath his head.
The weekend was only two days away, and the 749 Bureau would send someone to pick him up for the Combat Strength Test.
After tonight's little trial run, he was looking forward to the Combat Strength Test even more.
He was confident he could perform well.
"I wonder how that young lady's preparations are going?"
Remembering Feng Yuyao's indignant expression, Qi Wu's smile deepened.
He got to his feet, ready to return to his room and rest.
Before leaving, he took one last look at the city at night.
In the blink of an eye, Qi Wu vanished from the rooftop, leaving only the gentle night breeze.
