Su Li stopped in her tracks.
She slowly turned her head to look at Qi Wu.
A flicker of complicated emotion crossed her ash-gray eyes.
"How do you know about that place?"
Qi Wu shrugged. "Wolf Team told me. He said the most vicious criminals were locked up there, and he'd take me in for a look when the time was right."
Su Li fell silent for a few seconds.
"He promised you?"
"Yep."
"...Then go ask him. Why are you asking me?"
Qi Wu leaned closer and lowered his voice. "I just wanted to learn a little about it in advance~ Wolf Team's so tight-lipped. He won't tell me anything, no matter what I ask. You're so straightforward, Consultant Su. Surely you'd be willing to tell me?"
Su Li stared at him for several seconds.
Then she sighed.
"Fine. It's not exactly top secret anyway."
She leaned against an equipment cabinet, took a drag on her cigarette, and began speaking slowly.
"The Abyssal Grand Prison has held the most dangerous criminals since our nation was founded. It's a classified institution at the highest security level."
"What sort of people are locked up inside?"
"It isn't just people locked up in there." Su Li blew a smoke ring.
"Some powerful Psychics, and even certain forbidden Demons taken into containment, are imprisoned there."
"How dangerous are they?"
"Eighth Rank at the very least." Su Li looked at him. "Some are Ninth Rank, and there are even a few... people at the False Awakening level."
Qi Wu's eyes lit up.
"False Awakening?"
"Yes." Su Li's expression grew grave. "There are monsters in there that even Xiao Tiance... wasn't particularly willing to provoke before his Awakening."
Qi Wu nodded thoughtfully.
He looked calm on the surface.
In truth, his heart was already racing.
