Layton put away his politician's smile, his blue eyes fixed on the arena. "Fusing domains requires an exceptional command of laws. This Grillman is every bit as powerful as the rumors say."
The Human Emperor held his teacup without speaking. But his fingers tapped lightly against it.
Grillman stood at the center of his domain, dark red light surging around him like a cloak woven from blood and flame.
His wounds had healed completely, and his aura had grown stronger rather than weaker.
"This is my domain-[Bloodflame Purgatory]."
His voice reverberated through the domain with an eerie echo.
"Here, my blood law and flame law are strengthened tenfold. And my enemies-" He looked at Qi Wu. "Will be corroded by bloodflame, hounded by vengeful spirits, and slowly devoured by this purgatory."
He raised a hand and gave it a gentle wave.
As though receiving an order, the blood-red arms within the domain lunged at Qi Wu in unison! They swarmed so thickly that they blotted out the sky!
Qi Wu raised his hand and unleashed a World-Cutting Slash, shredding the first wave of arms.
But more arms surged forward, endless and inexhaustible. He flickered through the gaps between them, his Limitless repelling every attack that came close.
But-
He was slowing down.
The domain had already begun eroding his defenses without him noticing.
Dark red mist seeped through his Limitless and wound around him like invisible chains, dragging at his every movement.
The corners of Grillman's mouth lifted slightly. He raised his other hand, and the flames within the domain began to condense into dark red fire serpents that lunged at Qi Wu from every direction.
Qi Wu cleaved one
