Ji Ting's gaze darkened, his brows drawing together as he suddenly turned serious. "I promised Ji Yanzhi I would never join Shili Group."
The corners of Ji Shize's mouth dropped. He was clearly angry. "Did he force you to say that?"
Ji Ting opened his mouth to say no, but remembering the man's earlier attitude, he fell silent again.
Whatever he said, Ji Shize would blame Ji Yanzhi. Rather than give him an excuse to make trouble, he might as well see what Ji Shize was planning this time.
Seeing his silence, Ji Shize thought he understood.
"Does he think becoming President means he gets the final say at Shili?" He gave a mocking laugh. "Ji Yanzhi doesn't want you there, does he? Then I'll make sure you join the group, and I'll even give you an important position. Let's see what he can do about that."
Ji Ting watched him in silence, not taking the bait at all.
The original owner of his body hadn't even gotten into university. Other than eating, drinking, and having fun, he knew nothing about technology. Putting someone like "him" in an important position at the group would only make him a laughingstock and cause trouble for Ji Yanzhi.
Even if those were minor issues, if the original owner actually joined management, there was no telling how many bad decisions he would make or how much of the researchers' hard work he would waste.
Ji Shize thought he was dangling a sweet in front of Ji Ting. Little did he know that Ji Ting's opinion of him was sinking lower and lower, making an already bad impression worse.
"Why aren't you saying anything? Don't you believe your dad?"
"No," Ji Ting replied coolly.
"That's more like it." Ji Shize's tone suddenly grew affectionate again.
