Ji Yanzhi choked with anger, nearly speechless. "You listened down there all that time, and that was all you got out of it?"
"Mm." Ji Ting nodded, then added, "Oh, and you were pretty harsh with Ling Xi, too. He brought you food, but you seemed unhappy with him."
"You brought me food too. How come I wasn't unhappy with you?"
"You were. But you suspected I'd poisoned your fried rice."
Ji Yanzhi stared at him for two seconds, then sneered. "I'd quite like to poison you myself. Make you mute, and then let's see how that mouth of yours keeps infuriating me."
Ji Ting calmly pointed out, "I still have my tablet. I can type."
"Shut up!"
Ji Yanzhi grabbed his wrist and pulled him out of the study.
Back in the bedroom, he brought out the first-aid kit. "Turn around."
Remembering the last time he'd been injured at Crane Garden, Ji Ting said, "Just give me the medicine. I can do it myself."
"The injury's on the back of your neck. Do you have an eye in the back of your head? Are you Erlang Shen?"
Ji Ting corrected him. "Erlang Shen's extra eye is on his forehead."
Ji Yanzhi glared at him. "Fine, you're the one who knows everything. Happy now?"
Ji Ting's brow shifted slightly. That's common knowledge. Didn't Tasmanian Devil read mythology when he was little?
Ji Yanzhi drew a deep breath and gritted his teeth. "Turn around. Don't make me say it again."
Seeing that he seemed angry again, Ji Ting pressed his lips together and turned halfway around.
Ji Yanzhi opened the first-aid kit, took out some povidone-iodine and cotton swabs, and disinfected his wound.
Ji Ting felt that his touch was much gentler this time. Aside from a slight sting, the wound
