He cautiously pressed his ear closer, but couldn't hear a thing. Looking at the gap beneath the door, he realized Ji Ear seemed to have turned off the light, too.

An overwhelming sense of abandonment engulfed Ji Yanzhi. Suddenly, he felt like a puppy whose owner wouldn't let him sleep in the bedroom, leaving him to stare at the door all night, hoping his owner would soften and let him in.
