Hearing Ji Yanzhi's name out of the blue, Ji Ting was momentarily dazed. Only then did he realize that they seemed to have gone a long time without seeing each other again.

Wang Mian clenched his fist in a silent cheer. He was about to go out and announce the good news when Ji Ting suddenly stopped him. "Wang Mian."
"Yes?"
Ji Ting was silent for a moment. "What launch is Ji Yanzhi hosting?"
Wang Mian blinked. "President Ji didn't tell you? The chairman asked him to host the Second-Generation Car Launch." As he spoke, he leaned closer to Ji Ting conspiratorially. "I'll let you in on a secret, but don't tell anyone. President Ji might act all cool and aloof, but he actually hates putting himself in the public eye. Economic summits, financial interviews-he always had his secretary turn them all down before. So I have good reason to suspect he's an introvert."
Ji Ting did not know what an introvert was, but he asked a different question. "Even you know he hates this sort of thing. Ji Zhenting couldn't possibly be unaware of it. So why make him do it?"
Wang Mian pursed his lips in thought. "Hmm... My guess is President Ji probably did something to upset the old chairman, so he's deliberately punishing him."
Ji Ting's eyes abruptly darkened. A little while passed before he spoke. "I see. Thank you."
