Ji Ting had thought there must be special food to go with a soak in the hot springs. Without thinking much of it, he nodded. "Okay."
Ji Yanzhi smiled. "What would you like to eat? I'll get it for you."
After their meal, they went out into the courtyard, drinking tea as they admired the maple leaves.
"Ji Ear, I've never asked you-when's your birthday?"
Ji Ting fell silent for a moment. "I don't know."
"You don't know?" Ji Yanzhi frowned in surprise. "Wasn't it on your birth certificate?"
"My mother went into labor early and gave birth to me alone at home. By the time my aunt and grandmother found us, I'd already been born for several days. When my aunt went to the community office to get my birth certificate, she asked about the exact date, but my mother was too dazed to give a clear answer, so they put down the date of registration."
"February thirteenth," Ji Ting said calmly.
Ji Yanzhi's breath caught, and he gripped his hand tightly.
Ji Ting gave him a faint smile and comforted him instead. "It's all right. The exact date doesn't really matter. I'm already lucky to be alive."
Ji Yanzhi didn't know what to say. All he could do was nod firmly.
"If you want to celebrate my birthday, we can do it that day. I do like cake."
Ji Yanzhi lowered his eyes and once again merely nodded in silence.
Seeing this, Ji Ting lifted a hand to stroke his cheek. "We're supposed to have fun on our trip. Hmm... how about we go get some exercise?"
"Exercise?"
Ji Ting was just about to nod when his expression suddenly grew a little serious. "Ji Yanzhi, there's actually another identity I haven't told you about."
Ji Yanzhi couldn't help
