Jiang Shuoyuan was utterly bewildered. He even wanted to dig out his ears. "A visit? Whose home are you visiting?"
"The Jiang family's," Ji Ting said earnestly. "Didn't you say everyone in the family objected?"
"You... then, then all these things you bought are..."
Ji Ting nodded. "Yes, they're gifts for your whole family."
The muscles in Jiang Shuoyuan's face twitched slightly, and he narrowed his eyes. "Why does that sound like you're insulting us?"
"I don't insult people." Ji Ting paused, then corrected himself. "Oh, no, that's not right. I've insulted Ji Yanzhi, but only him."
In his nearly fifty years of life, Jiang Shuoyuan had met all sorts of people, but never anyone like Ji Ting.
The man was a walking contradiction. Speaking candidly was a virtue, but his candor could infuriate people. Being polite and considerate was clearly a sign of high emotional intelligence, yet despite those big eyes, he couldn't read anyone's expression at all. No matter how much hostility others showed him, he treated it as thin air.
Jiang Shuoyuan's brow furrowed tighter and tighter. He wasn't merely angry; his confusion was even stronger. "Ji Ting, what exactly are you trying to do?"
"I'm not trying to do anything. I just want to make one thing clear: Ji Yanzhi must be with me."
Utterly speechless, Jiang Shuoyuan let out a laugh. "On what grounds? Why must he?"
Ji Ting enunciated every word clearly. "Because before we got together, we had already had every argument we would ever have in this lifetime."
Jiang Shuoyuan was speechless. I understand every word, so why can't I make sense of them together?
He drew a deep breath, suppressing the throbbing at his temples. "You said you've insulted him, and that you've argued many times. If your relationship used to
