Ji Ting paused, then asked a little blankly, "Are we starting now? But I don't think I'm as angry as I was before."
"No, you have to be angry." Ji Yanzhi furrowed his brows. "This is a serious matter. If it were me, I'd probably be angry enough to burn the house down."
Ji Ting looked at him disapprovingly. "Arson is illegal."
"Then I won't do anything illegal." Ji Yanzhi leaned toward him. "I'll only do things to make it up to you, all right?"
Ji Ting's lashes trembled as he lowered his eyes, then nodded.
Ji Yanzhi could hardly stand how adorable he was. Fighting the urge to kiss him, he addressed the matter at hand first. "You said you didn't understand what I did. Honestly, I don't understand it either."
Ji Ting raised his eyes. "Then why did you do it?"
"Ling Xi kept pestering me to go home, saying a family should all be together for New Year's. I found it ridiculous and irritating, so I just grabbed something to fob him off with."
Ji Yanzhi thought for a moment and came up with a very apt analogy. "It's like a dog that won't stop barking, so I stuff a meat bun in its mouth."
Ji Ting considered that, then asked, "Was it the same as when you gave me a bank card during our first argument?"
"How could that be the same?!" Ji Yanzhi raised his brows. "With Ling Xi, I was impatiently brushing him off. With you, I was..."
He abruptly stopped. A faint smile flickered in Ji Ting's eyes. "With me, you were what?"
Ji Yanzhi gave an awkward little cough and looked away. "With you, I was being stubborn and putting myself through misery to save face."
Ji Ting held back his smile.
