Ji Ting frowned and looked up to see Ji Yanzhi standing at the second-floor railing. "How did you know she left?"
"I didn't." A smile curved Ji Yanzhi's lips. "I just knew she wouldn't stay at the old house tonight."
According to his information, the couple wouldn't return until just before New Year's. Yet Lin Qing had suddenly appeared in the middle of the night without any luggage. Clearly, she had made the decision in a hurry, and had quite possibly come back without Ji Shize knowing.
Between this and the earlier incident, Ji Yanzhi felt certain there was something going on between them that he didn't know about.
"What did Lin Qing say to you before she left?"
Ji Ting fell silent for a moment, then said evenly, "She just asked if you'd hit me. I said you hadn't."
Ji Yanzhi raised an eyebrow. "That's all?"
He clearly didn't believe him, but Ji Ting didn't want to pursue the subject. "Yes."
Even if I don't tell him, Ji Yanzhi knows about Crane Garden.
Ji Yanzhi gave a rather smug snort. Ji Ting hadn't said it aloud, but his thoughts had given everything away.
His lips curved upward. "All right. Remember what I told you earlier. Forget it, and you'd better watch out."
"Which part..."
Before Ji Ting could finish asking, Ji Yanzhi walked off on his own.
He was always like this. Ji Ting sighed helplessly and went upstairs to his room as well.
It was already three in the morning when Ji Ting finished his shower, but even after lying down, he couldn't fall asleep for a long time.
It used to be just Ji Yanzhi and me in this house. He was hardly ever home during the day, so he didn't really get in the way.
