"Crash!"
The ceiling shattered, and an enormous claw thrust through it. But the attack came as no surprise to Li Wei. After all, he used [Soul Sight] like a wallhack. Getting ambushed by something hiding behind a wall would have been downright embarrassing!
The moment the ambusher struck, the Grim Reaper Doll darted backward under Li Wei's control, then gripped its scythe and slashed hard at the arm sticking out of the ceiling!
"Swish!"
Cold steel flashed, and the thick arm was severed like a tree trunk. An enraged, agonized roar rang out, and a moment later, Li Wei saw the blazing point of soul light vanish into the depths of the tunnel overhead.
An ordinary corridor would have been one thing, but mine tunnels branched in every direction and were everywhere. In a sense, they were harder for Li Wei to deal with than the monsters. He withdrew his gaze, walked over to the Grim Reaper Doll, and examined the enormous arm before him. He had controlled the doll to cut it off at the elbow, and even that section was a full two-thirds of his height.
Hmm... I can imagine how enormous this monster would be if it showed itself in full.
Still, it seems to have some intelligence, unlike those ordinary zombies. Anyway... I'd better contact Elizabeth first.
With that thought, Li Wei returned to the Elevator entrance and picked up the receiver.
All he heard was a busy signal. No matter how he dialed, there was no response. Li Wei looked up and followed the communicator's cable with his eyes. It ran up to the ceiling, then continued forward to the other side of the corridor... or it would have, if a huge hole hadn't suddenly appeared in the middle.
*That damned bastard cut the communications
