"Go!"
Seeing the rabbit bare its savage nature, Li Wei shoved Katie forward, then swiftly backed away, as practiced as a hunter who used Misdirection on the main tank to pull a mob before feigning death.
"Huh? What?"
Ruthlessly pushed to the front by Li Wei, Katie looked bewildered, but not frightened. For her, figuring out how to deal with this bizarre rabbit was probably the greater challenge.
By then, however, the rabbit had already lunged in front of Katie and slashed a claw down at her.
The rabbit had grown to roughly the size of a small car. Even an ordinary rabbit that large would have been frightening enough, let alone one this twisted and hideous. It was clearly recognizable as a rabbit, yet that only made its grotesque, sinister face all the more unsettling.
"Hah!"
Facing the rabbit's descending claws, Katie gave a sharp cry and punched with her right hand, meeting its paw head-on. With a crisp crack of breaking bones, the descending paw burst like a balloon filled with water. Dark red, filthy blood sprayed out, and the rabbit let out an agonized howl.
At the same time, the old man seized the opportunity, raised his shotgun, and pulled the trigger.
Bang! Bang!
Two shots rang out. The bullets seemed to hit the rabbit, but against that coat of filthy fur, they appeared to have no effect whatsoever.
"Katie, kick it away!"
Meanwhile, Li Wei swiftly reloaded and gave his order.
"Yes!"
Katie was drawing back her fist when she heard Li Wei's command and hurriedly answered. Ducking under the rabbit's furious swipe, she charged in close, then landed a heavy spinning kick on its chest.
"Hah!"
