The world before his eyes changed in an instant.
When Li Wei came to his senses again, he was still standing in the same place, but Aitina and Katie had long since vanished. There was no one around him.
But this was not the building he had been in before.
In Li Wei's eyes, the surrounding buildings all gave off a faint blue glow, as though they had been outlined with wireframes. Put simply, they reminded him of the scenery in certain cartoon-style 3D games. Black outlines and colors traced out an entirely new world, and that was exactly what this place looked like.
So what exactly was going on?
Thinking it over, Li Wei retraced his steps. When he jumped down through the hole Katie had opened earlier, he spotted something unexpected.
A coffin now lay on the floor of the previously empty secret chamber.
Li Wei walked over, examined the coffin curiously, then opened it. A man lay inside, seemingly fast asleep. His expression was peaceful, his eyes tightly shut, and he made no sound, like a sleeping beauty.
Unfortunately, he was a man.
He was none other than Professor Andrew.
"Professor Andrew? Professor?"
Li Wei reached out and nudged him, but the professor remained motionless, like a puppet. Still, Li Wei could at least feel that he had body heat, a heartbeat, and breathing. He simply seemed to have lost consciousness.
What was going on?
Looking at Professor Andrew, Li Wei could make no sense of it. Just as he was about to give some serious thought to what he should do next, however, the view outside the window suddenly caught his attention.
"Hm?"
Li Wei raised his head and looked out the window, examining the scenery outside in surprise.
