Li Wei had his own reasons for deciding to intercept the Leviathan here.
First, its soul glowed white. In Li Wei's experience, white was the soul glow of a normal creature. Whether or not this thing listened to reason, at least it obeyed the laws of physics.
That raised a question: how did something this enormous stay in the air?
Li Wei had already thought it resembled his Eye of the Sky. Now that he considered it more carefully, perhaps it really did work much the same way?
With a body that huge, could it be filled with hydrogen? Those little wings didn't seem to have the capabilities of a Dragon's wings, so what kept it airborne had to be a gas lighter than air.
Li Wei could also see people walking around beneath it, which meant this thing really was very much like an airship. After all, unless it was light enough, it couldn't possibly carry so much. Even if the whale's body was exceptionally light, that wouldn't change the weight of the humans aboard it.
Not to mention, this thing wasn't entirely biological. It also carried a great deal of metal equipment. Even without a Difference Engine or howitzers like those installed on Li Wei's Eye of the Sky, it would still be heavy enough.
So, logically, all he needed to do was blast this thing open, and he could kill it with ease.
Of course, that was only a theory. What if its skin was tough enough to withstand shells? Logically, that seemed unlikely, but what if it was?
Li Wei had already worked out what to do then, too: run.
The Eye of the Sky could climb to a maximum altitude of eighteen thousand meters. No creature could reach that height. That was where machines had
