When Li Wei arrived at Lord Clop's home, the place was already in chaos. Outside the house, servants were sorting and packing belongings, looking as though they were preparing to move.
"Excuse me, what happened here?"
Li Wei walked up to a servant and asked curiously. The servant kept his head down as he packed, grumbling all the while.
"Who knows what's gotten into the master? He wants to dismiss all of us and even sell the house-"
As he spoke, the servant looked up and saw Li Wei. Startled, he hurried to his feet.
"S-Sir Li Wei!"
"Please tell Lord Clop I need to speak with him."
Li Wei addressed the servant, who hastily nodded.
"Yes, my lord. I'll go right now-"
The servant scrambled through the front door as he spoke. A moment later, Li Wei saw a man dressed as a butler run out, drenched in sweat.
"Welcome, Sir Li Wei. My apologies for not being here to receive you-"
The butler wiped the sweat from his forehead, looking uneasily at Li Wei.
"Might I ask what brings you here-"
"There are a few matters I'd like to discuss with Lord Clop in person."
"Well-"
The butler looked troubled by Li Wei's answer.
"Forgive my frankness, but the master is currently somewhat... indisposed-"
"That's precisely why I'm here."
"You-?"
The butler froze for a moment, then understanding dawned on his face.
"So the master really is possessed? He's been saying all sorts of strange things these past few days. He wants to dismiss us all and sell the house, too-he says he needs to remonstrate with His Majesty-"
"May I see him?"
"Of course. Please follow me!"
Had Li Wei been an ordinary noble, the butler would probably have refused to let him in, no matter what
