The Empire was far too vast for Li Wei alone to handle all its supernatural cases. In fact, Military Intelligence Section Seven had multiple teams of agents dedicated to dealing with such incidents.
Each team had a very different approach.
Some carefully investigated the circumstances, then devised a targeted solution.
Others charged straight in and relied entirely on firepower to solve the problem.
But whichever approach they took, they all faced the same problem: they had no system, so they could not confirm whether a mission was complete the way Li Wei could.
That led to a problem often encountered in horror movies.
At the very end of the film, something thought to be dead suddenly crawled back out, setting the stage for-the sequel.
The case Li Wei had just received from the Old Butler was exactly that sort of case.
The case itself was also complicated. All the members of Gamma, a special squad belonging to the supernatural incident response unit, had recently been found dead. They had died late at night, and each member had been somewhere different when it happened. One had been drinking at a bar, another had been getting intimate with his partner at home, and another had been resting alone in his room.
They had all died in exactly the same way: something had twisted their limbs and heads off while they were still alive.
Military Intelligence Section Seven had immediately launched an investigation, of course, but so far, they had found no useful leads. The only thing they could confirm was that the deaths had not involved anyone else. Even those who had been right beside the victims at the time had remained unharmed.
They could therefore conclude that the squad members had most likely been cursed by something.
