Li Wei put some thought into his explosions.
The reason he had moved the bombs this way himself instead of having the Eye of the Sky open fire was simple.
Firing from outside would bury everything within. The Monastery was a protective shell the demon had designed for itself; its actual lair was inside the cave. Even if Li Wei flattened the Monastery, he still would not threaten or harm the demon.
The best approach, therefore, was to surround it with a ring of explosives, then set them off.
That way, whatever was inside could not escape, while everything outside would be blown open.
Like a firecracker, once the outer shell burst, everything inside would be exposed.
The system had yet to notify him that the quest was complete, which meant the problem remained unresolved. But for Li Wei, the work ahead was clearly much simpler than storming a heavily fortified Monastery.
Mountain winds howled as Li Wei stood on the blasted, collapsed ground. He surveyed the crater spreading outward in a radial pattern, then pointed.
"Right here. Dig."
At his command, three fully armed Steam Mech Troopers quickly took up shovels and began digging there.
"Mr. Li Wei, what are we looking for?"
Katie poked her head out curiously and looked at the crater.
"Surely there can't be anything left here?"
"Yes, that's what I thought too."
Li Wei stared at the enormous crater and nodded. As Katie had said, that had been a full bombing load. Dropped from the air, it could have flattened an entire church. Inside a narrow cave, there was practically nothing to cushion the blasts, making their destructive force even more terrifying.
By all rights, not even bones should have remained.
But Li Wei's [Soul Sight] told him that demons really could not be
