Lydia leaned by the window, watching the scenery sweep past the carriage, and let out an involuntary sigh.
"What's wrong, Lydia?"
A young girl's voice sounded just then. Along with it, a white cat poked her head out of Lydia's bag, looking at her curiously with large, deep-blue eyes.
"You were invited to Fog City to attend the meeting as a representative, weren't you? Why do you look so listless?"
"Because I'm nervous."
Looking at her White Cat Fairy, Lydia clenched her fists anxiously. She had joined Military Intelligence Section Seven less than half a year ago. Originally, she had been an ordinary country girl, but her parents had unfortunately fallen under an evil spirit's curse, leaving her whole family in mortal danger.
Lydia had written to The Explorer magazine for help. Later, Military Intelligence Section Seven had sent a squad to her hometown and helped her deal with those evil spirits. During that case, a chance encounter had also made Lydia partners with this White Cat Fairy, who could speak human language.
