The reason that world's Baron Hanklis had crossed over into his world most likely had something to do with the masked man he had killed.
After all, Baron Hanklis had written in the letter that all those strange things had only started happening after he killed the man.
According to his account, only he could see the man. No one else could, and no matter how many times he threw the man out, the man would reappear.
Li Wei strongly suspected... that this might have been a bug.
Anyone who had played games knew that enabling cheats or doing something the system did not support could sometimes leave you stuck somewhere and cause a bug.
To give a simple example, imagine an opening scripted sequence where the player had to die. Their HP would drop to zero, they would die once, then they would respawn in a graveyard to begin a new life.
But if the player did not want to die and used a cheat to lock their health, all sorts of bugs might occur once they reached that sequence.
Perhaps the enemy would keep attacking them forever. Perhaps they would wake up again and discover that instead of being in the starting graveyard, they were in the boss room where they had just been killed.
